Delyth performs with most Symphony Orchestras in Australia, playing on a regular basis with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria
|Welsh born harpist Delyth Stafford arrived in Australia 30 years ago. Her diversity of styles firmly established herself at the top of the freelancing world.
Delyth performs with most Symphony Orchestras in Australia, playing on a regular basis with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and touring with them on their recent tours to Europe, Japan and Saint Petersburg. A regular Principal player with Orchestra Victoria, Delyth is also currently Principal Harp with the Australian Pops orchestra.
Teaching and Chamber Music and Music Theatre add to her diversity , crossing genres with ease. Delyth currently teaches at Melbourne University and at Methodist Ladies’ College. Delyth was also Lecturer in Harp at the Canberra School of Music for 9 years.
Contemporary music has been a specialty, performing with Elision for a number of years. Chamber ensembles have included Ensemble Variante and Michelangeli. Delyth has worked with Music Therapy Departments in various Melbourne hospitals.
Delyth has had the privilege to work with great musicians: Jose Carreras, Dame Kiri te Kanawa, Stevie Wonder and Victor Borge to name but a few.
